About the Chevrolet Cruze






Models Chevrolet Cruze:

Cruze is sold as a sedan in the U.S. and is available in hatchback and wagon configurations in some markets. In North America, Cruze is available with 1.4- and 1.8-liter four cylinder engines. Engines are paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Cruze is sold in LT, LS, LTZ and Eco editions. Beginning later in 2013, a diesel Cruze will also be made available.

Performance Chevrolet Cruze:

The standard engine is a 1.8-liter four cylinder that is of cast aluminum construction and has four valves per cylinder. This engine as a 10.5 to 1 compression ratio and makes 138 horsepower at 6,300 rpm. Torque comes in at 125 foot-pounds at 3,800 rpm. Also available is a turbocharged 1.4-liter four cylinder engine that is also of cast aluminum construction. This 16-valve engine has a 9.5 to 1 compression ration and is rated at 138 horsepower at 4,900 rpm and 148 foot-pounds of torque at 1,850 to 2,500 rpm.

Dimensions Chevrolet Cruze:

Sitting on a 105.7-inch wheelbase, Cruze is 181.0 inches long by 70.7 inches wide by 58.1 inches tall. This sedan weighs from 3,011 to 3,155 pounds and has a maximum towing capacity of 1,000 pounds. Towing is not recommended with Cruze Eco.

Fuel Economy:

Like other compact cars, Chevrolet's Cruze gets very good gas mileage. Its Eco version gets a segment-leading 42 mpg. Other models get from 22 to 26 mpg around town and 35 to 38 mpg on the highway. All Cruze models except Eco are equipped with a 15.6-gallon fuel tank. Eco comes with a 12.6-gallon fuel tank. When powered by its turbocharged engine Cruze offers a driving range of nearly 593 miles.

Equipment Chevrolet Cruze:

Chevrolet packs Cruze with 10 airbags and offers a number of features as standard equipment including power windows, power door locks and air-conditioning. Cruze also comes with remote keyless entry, a tilt and telescopic steering column, an audio system, a USB port, an auxiliary input jack, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar and Bluetooth connectivity. Options include an upgraded audio system, Chevrolet MyLink, a navigation system, a technology package with safety features and a sunroof. Cruze rides on standard 16-inch wheels. Optionally, 17-inch forged light-weight polished alloy wheels are also available. Halogen headlamps, daytime running lamps, LED tail lamps and folding side mirrors are also standard. You can also order a rear spoiler and opt for various trim embellishments.
